Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

If you are on a budget and wanna shoot portraits, and I mean you can’t even afford the Canon EF 85mm F/1.8, then Canon 50mm 1.8 is the lens for you! It’s the cheapest lens you can find! And especially if you are just starting with photography and don’t really know what lenses to get or anything, get the Nifty Fifty and get stuck to it for at least a few months! This way I guarantee you that you will eventually learn a lot and find out what lenses you really want! I often advice other photographers to get just one lens, and spend some time with it until you really master it, without even touching a different lens for a while! As I always say this is not a review, and I’m not gonna be testing it with all the possible apertures, or whatever, I’m just showing off some examples of my work that exist thanks to that lens!

I’ve been using the lens a while already, and since then I have changed already 3 different camera bodies, here they are:

Canon EOS 5D Mark II

First I used it with the APS-C camera 50D, after that I switched to Full size camera and 5D Mark II! Well to be honest I almost only used it when any of the other focal lengths was slightly off from what I have wanted to do! Another thing to worry a bit about that lens is that it’s really stable, and probably you are not sure when it is just going to break in your hands, check the image below to see how actually mine ended it’s service! I haven’t even dropped it it just decided to fall into pieces in front of my model!

カメラ始めたばっかり、何を撮りたいのかよくわからない、あんまりお金もないなどの方へはこのレンズがお勧めです！まずは何ヶ月このレンズだけで撮ってください！これだけ！単焦点レンズは最初使いにくいと思いますが、慣れたらすごく役に立ちます！そうすると実際に何が必要とか、何を撮りたいとかをよくわかると思います！私も昔は半年ぐらいこのレンズだけ使っていました！その時期はかなり勉強になったと言えます！この記事はレビューではない、ただカメラマンとして、この立派な道具を使うといったい何ができるのかみたいな感じで自分の50mmを使った写真のアルバムにします！すべての絞りなどが入ってるレビューとかじゃなくて、実際の撮影の結果だけです！

まぁ、レンズは安いのは間違いないし、その値段のわりにもかなりいいと思いますが、ただいつ壊れるかわからない覚悟で使っていったほうがいいと思います！私の場合でも普通に撮影のときにレンズを交換してるときに上の写真のようにいくつかに割れました！それで私のこのレンズとの経験が終わりました！今までには2つのボディにつけてました、Canon 5０DとCanon 5DMIIです！

I started using the lens with the Canon 50D, and had my first photography experience exactly with that lens! So here are a few shots, some of them from my street shooting time! Also I often used it on my 50D camera to just shoot some off-shots during photoshoots!

The majority of my photographs that are worth viewing even now are taken with the Canon 5DMII, to be honest I have mainly used in narrow spaces where I can’t really fit with the 85mm or 135mm!
