Shooting it: You’ll Always Stay Here

This photoshoot was not planned at all, we just thought we might meet up and shoot something with my friend, and as she was staying that day in Hilton Osaka, and the weather outside was quite horrible we just decided to shoot in, then this idea came and we tried figuring out how to get that guy searching for a lot of materials that might be useful for it. We almost cut some stuff in the room, but then we just stopped and called the reception. We’ve been shooting in the room a couple of different photos, but then we decided to concentrate on this one, and just shoot for one proper photo!

Very simple setup for this shot I’m only using one softbox. I’m using 19mm focal length to shoot, and basically I’m not looking through the viewfinder, just raising the camera high, and shooting until I got the angle I wanted! Damn, that looked funny how I was climbing on the bed shooting this!

This is a funny idea I wanted to do some time ago, and it was quite easy to do it in a hotel like Hilton even without preparing anything, you just call the reception, and ask for the black piece of cloth, you wanna cut in the shape of the ‘dead man’ and they bring you whatever you need! Hehe, it was a bit mistake to mention the word ‘murder’ or ‘dead man in the bed’, and we felt the shock in the receptionist’s voice, but after they understood what we were doing, they were so helpful! 😉 Then we had to cut the black curtain we had, and make it into some human-like shape, hope it’s easy to see that it’s a man! 😉

I’m using my cheap Tokina 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 lens here, that’s the widest lens I had at that time! Click here to see some more photos I have with that lens to view a set on my Flickr Account! As usual I am triggering my main flash 580EXII with a Pocket Wizard, and all the second flashes is triggered as optical slave.

Here is the final image of the shoot:

The model in this shoot one of the funniest models I’m shooting, she is always very active and positive so it’s a great pleasure shooting with her! You can see other photos of her I’ve taken in a set on my Flickr Account, just click HERE!
