The Fashion Photoshoot Intro

This time I’m uploading a few shots from a recent fashion photoshoot, well, the location is well known from my photographs I guess! I’m using very simple lighting again, this time it’s a DIY Beauty Dish created from a salad bowl, it’s really cool light but might look a bit unprofessional of you take it on some serious shoot! lol My friend created it! Also my assistant for this shot was so happy because usually he had to carry quite big modifiers! 

この撮影たぶんみんなよくわかる場所でやっています！最近の記事にもよく出てますね！今回のライティングでは、ちょっと面白いアクセサリーを使っています！完全に手作りのオパライトで、友達がサラダディッシュで作りました！すごく綺麗な光なんだけど、まじめな撮影に持っていくのは、ちょっとかっこ悪いかもしれないです！まぁ、機材よりは結果が大事なので、私がそんなのがこだわらないですね！

Gear

Camera is Canon 5D Mark II nothing much to say about it! The lens is Canon 135mm F/2 USM

Strobe – I am using one light for this shot, the flash is Nikon SB-26 That was time when I have been using the old Nikons quite a lot!  

Modifier – My modifier for this shoot is a DIY Beauty Dish, my friend had created it from a salad bowl and it’s a stunning light source! 

Triggers – at that time I was using Pocket Wizard II Plus triggers! 

機材

カメラは Canon 5D Mark II です！レンズはCanon 135mm F/2 USM です

当時使ってたストロボは Nikon SB-26だった、このモデルのストロボは昔結構使ってました！！

アクセサリーは手作りのオパライト・ビューティー・ディッシュ、私の友達がサラダディッシュで作ってたオパライトの光が最高！

ラジオスレーブは Pocket Wizard II Plus です！

Lighting

For this fashion photoshoot I’m using a single light, DIY Beauty Dish, since I wanted a little more directional light towards her! It is held by assistant on her left side! It was a cloudy day an I was at the limit of my sync speed, and since I wanted to shoot at wide open aperture on my 135mm F/2 lens, so I had to drop my ISO settings at 160, and had my shutter speed at 1/160 sec! I trigger the strobe by Pocket Wizard II Plus, but since I only had one trigger! This is a really simple setup that I have been using quite often at that time! My strobe was at around 1/4th power setting!

ライティング

ライティングの説明です、とてもシンプルなライティングを使っています！その撮影で使ってた135ミリのレンズで開放F/2で撮りたかったので、ISO-160で、ちょうどシンクロスピードぎりぎりで撮影できました、シャッタースピードはは1/160です。ストロボは1灯だけで、モディファイヤーは手作りのオパライト、パワーは1/4ぐらいでした！そのオパライトは実は、サラダボウルで作っているものなので、見た目気にする人にとってはかっこ悪いかもしれないけど、光が最高にきれいｄす！その日はかなり曇ってました！ラジオスレーブはPocket Wizard II Plus です！

Final Results

Here are a few of the shots from the fashion photoshoot! I’m using exactly the same settings for all of them! Model in the photoshoot is Agne and the designers are Yuki Ichikawa & Misa Okamura. The models I often shoot with, know that quite often my shoots will be at kinda messed up locations, and I want to make sure that they will be motivated to go to the edge for a good photo! Of course I need to give them a reason for that by shooting great photos, I think that how they become trusting me when I tell them my ideas!
