Shooting it: Windy bridge fashion photoshoot (Making video)

Intro

This time I’m uploading a few shots, with a dramatic making video for the fashion photoshoot! It was a really windy day, and walking on that bridge was kind of a challenge! I’m using only one light for the whole shoot! Check out the making video below for some off-shots and tips on how I stabilize my light stand in the strong wind! I hope you like it, so I might be posting some other making videos soon! 

 この撮影はちょっと危険な感じがしますね、武田尾の橋で撮影すつのがいつも楽しいですが、その日はかなり強い風ですごくドラマチックでした！今回はメイキングビデオもあるので、ぜひ見てくださいね！ビデオには強い風でどんな風にスタンドを固定してるとかいろいろなコツかあると思います！撮影は全体で1灯ライティングでやっています！ヘアメイクは私の友達の96さんで、モデルはテディです！

Gear

Camera is Canon 5D Mark II nothing much to say about it! The lens is Canon 135mm F/2 USM

Strobe – I am using one light for this shot, the flash is Nikon SB-26 That was time when I have been using the old Nikons quite a lot!  

Modifier – My modifier for this shoot is a 80×60 Softbox, one that I still have and often use on location! I like how it directs the light! 

Triggers – at that time I was using Pocket Wizard II Plus triggers! 

機材

当時使ってたストロボは Nikon SB-26だった、このモデルのストロボは昔結構使ってました！！

アクセサリーは80×60ソフトボックス、私のもっとも好きなモディファイヤーのひとつです！いまだにロケでよく使っています！

ラジオスレーブは Pocket Wizard II Plus です！

Lighting

For this photoshoot I’m using a single light, the 80×60 Softbox, since I wanted a little more directional light towards her! Also the other reason is that the wind was strong as hell, and it was getting tricky to manage more than one lights! It was a cloudy day an I was at the limit of my sync speed, and since I wanted to shoot at wide open aperture on my 135mm F/2 lens, so I had to drop my ISO settings at 100, and had my shutter speed at 1/160 sec! I trigger the strobe by Pocket Wizard II Plus, but since I only had one trigger! This is a really simple setup that I have been using quite often at that time! My strobe was at around 1/2nd power setting!

ライティング

ライティングの説明です、とてもシンプルなライティングを使っています！ひとつの理由が、風がすごかったです！人が歩いてても飛ばされそうな感じで面白かったです！その撮影で使ってた135ミリのレンズで開放F/2で撮りたかったので、ISO-100で、ちょうどシンクロスピードぎりぎりで撮影できました、シャッタースピードはは1/160です。ストロボは1灯だけで、モディファイヤーはグリッド付の80ｘ60センチのソフトボックス、パワーは1/2ぐらいでした！今でもよく使ってるアクセサリーです！その日はかなり曇ってました！ラジオスレーブはPocket Wizard II Plus です！

Final Results

Here are a few of the shots from this photoshoot! I’m using exactly the same settings for all of them! Model in the photoshoot is Tedy and hair makeup is my friend 96. The models I often shoot with, know that quite often my shoots will be at kinda messed up locations, and I want to make sure that they will be motivated to go to the edge for a good photo! Of course I need to give them a reason for that by shooting great photos, I think that how they become trusting me when I tell them my ideas!
